New River Deck Design
Often we are working with existing framing and adding/adjusting as needed. In the case of this deck, we had a lot of framing to work with, but I knew I wanted to really switch out how all the circulation worked (that is, how the stairs are laid out.)
We more-or-less threw out the existing concept, and started anew. This process, from first meeting until completing construction was over 12 months. A lot of people want their deck done now, and so skip over thoughtful design, or go for the first builder that is available (“he said he could start tomorrow”, I’ve heard that one a few times,) but if you take your time, we can really design and build something special.
