Farmer’s Porch on an Old Home
This was a pleasure to build for friends of ours and they had us over for dinner afterward!
This project included a new deck and roof (deck+roof=porch).
However, before we could even think about building, we had to get a variance for the build due to the proximity of the road (someone built a road right next to their house!) That took a little hoop-jumping but we got it done for them.
AND, before we could build, this 1800s home needed a sill replacement! Termites and rot had gotten to it – so we jacked the house up a half-inch, removed the sill, and installed a new PT sill.
